This TSB article is being republished in its entirety to correct the dealer coding basic part number.


ISSUE:
Hesitation or stall in temperatures between -30~ F and -35~ F (-34~ C and -37~ C) after the vehicle has been highway type driven for about an hour may be caused by the PCV valve, PCV tube or PCV port (intake manifold nipple) freezing.

ACTION:
Replace the PCV valve and PCV tube with a new assembly which is freeze resistant. Refer to the following procedure for service details.


SERVICE PROCEDURE





1. Remove Tube Assembly-Crankcase Vent Regulator, part number 6758 (any part manufactured in 1991 and 1992 model year). Refer to Figure 1.

2. Remove Elbow and Valve Assembly-Crankcase Vent Regulator, part number 6B890 (any part manufactured in the 1991 and 1992 model year). Refer to Figure 1.





3. Install a new Valve Assembly-Crankcase Vent Regulator (color grey), part number F2CZ-6A666-A, or Elbow and valve Assembly, part number EV-157-DP. Discard the elbow and install the valve only. Refer to Figure 2.



4. Install Tube Assembly-Crankcase Vent Regulator, part number F3CZ-6758-A. Refer to Figure 2.
