Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Customer Safety Information

- Do not park over any object or material that could ignite (i.e. dry leaves, cardboard, puddles of oil, etc.). Catalytic converters reach operating temperatures of 650°C (1200 °F) and stay hot for some time after engine shut off.

- Do not run engine in confined areas or breathe concentrated exhaust gases. Some exhaust gas components (carbon monoxide) are toxic and may cause loss of consciousness or death.

- Repair exhaust system leaks immediately. Escaping exhaust gas can cause a vehicle fire.

- Be alert for fuel odors and excessive tailpipe emission output (black smoke etc..). These are problem indicators.
