Attachment III - Technical Instructions

Note:
It may be necessary to perform the following procedures with the vehicle on a hoist or over a pit.

1. Raise engine hood and secure.
2. Remove left splash shield from underside of vehicle. Refer Figure 1.

3. Remove automatic transaxle oil cooler inlet hose and retain clamps. Refer figure 2.

Note:
Ensure that oil cooler line connector (spigot) on radiator is not damaged during removal of oil hose. Before fitting revised level oil hose, ensure that spigot is clean and free of sharp burrs or scratches which may damage hose rubber.

4. Remove oil cooler line connector (spigot) and sealing washer from transaxle, and replace with new knurled spigot (Part No. AFU57 19927 AA) and new sealing washer (Part No. 995621400).

Note:
Ensure spigot is dry and free from all traces of oil. Tighten spigot to a torque of 18-26 ft.lbs. (24-35 N-m).

5. Fit revised level oil cooler inlet hose, (Part No. FOJY 7A030 E and identified with a yellow dot) using existing Tridon clamps (Part No. V860038 S100). Ensure hose is fully located on radiator fitting and spigot.

Note:
Under no circumstances should the replacement hose be lubricated to assist assembly. Also, the daub of yellow paint on the hose indicates the radiator fitting end of the hose. Refer figure 2.

6. Torque hose clamps to 45 In.lb., (5 N-m).

Note:
The use of a torque wrench is mandatory.

7. Refit splash shield to underside of vehicle.

8. Check automatic transaxle oil level.

9. Lower engine hood and return vehicle to service.
