Power and Ground Distribution: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
Police Option-equipped vehicles include wiring and components intended for use with Police accessories such as spot lamps, radios, and light bars. Both switched power and hot at all times power are provided.

OPERATION
Voltage is present at the Police Accessory Circuit Breaker at all times. Voltage is present at Police Accessory Connector # 1 at all times through the Police Accessory Circuit Breaker and circuit 37 (Y).

Voltage is present at the Police Accessory Relay contacts at all times through the Police Accessory Circuit Breaker and circuit 38 (BK/O). When the Ignition Switch is in "ACC" or "RUN", voltage is applied to the Police Accessory Relay coil through Fuse 6 and circuit 296 (W/P). The coil energizes and the contacts close.

Voltage is now present at Police Accessory Connector # 2 through the Police Accessory Circuit Breaker, circuit 38 (BK/O), the Police Accessory Relay, and circuit 361 (R).
