FORD:

LINCOLN-MERCURY:
1993 GRAND MARQUIS, SABLE, TOWN CAR
1993-94 CONTINENTAL

ISSUE:
The service brake pedal may have a "slip/stick" condition when the brake is applied. A noise/vibration can be heard or felt in the brake pedal on a slow apply and release of the brake pedal after the engine compartment has warmed up. Vehicle braking is not affected by this pedal condition.

ACTION:
Replace the brake booster. Refer to the appropriate Service Manual, Section 06-09, for service details.

NOTE:
IF THE COMPLAINT IS VIBRATION DURING BRAKE APPLICATION AND/OR EXCESSIVE LINING WEAR, THE BOOSTER SHOULD NOT BE REPLACED UNLESS THE "SLIP/STICK" CONDITION IS CONFIRMED.

NOTE:
ON POLICE VEHICLES ONLY, THE PEDAL POSITION SWITCH POST MUST BE REPLACED WITH THE BRAKE BOOSTER.
