Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Dealer Letter

Serial Number: Date Here

Ford Motor Company is providing a no-charge Service Program, Number 94M83, to owners of certain 1992 and 1993 Tempo and Topaz equipped with 2.3L engines built through April 1, 1993 to replace the engine crankshaft pulley assembly.

REASONS FOR THIS PROGRAM
The rubber isolator in the engine crankshaft pulley may shear or debond from the outer ring resulting in a loud clanking noise. If ignored and not repaired, loss of all accessory functions including power steering, water pump, air conditioning and electrical charging system can occur.

NO CHARGE SERVICE
At no charge to you, your dealer will replace the engine crankshaft pulley. This service is available for 6 years/60,000 miles or through February 28, 1995, whichever provides greater coverage.

CALL YOUR DEALER
Call your dealer and ask for a service date and if parts are in stock. If your dealer does not have the parts in stock, they can be ordered before scheduling your service appointment.

When you bring your car in, give the dealer this letter. If you misplace this letter, your dealer will still do the work, free of charge.

REFUNDS
If you paid to have this service done before the date of this 10tter, Ford is offering a full refund. For the refund, please present your paid work-order to your Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealer.

CHANCED ADDRESS OR SOLD THE CAR?
Please advise us of your new address or the name and address of the new owner so that we can adjust our records accordingly.

We are taking this action as part of our ongoing efforts to maintain owner confidence in our products. We hope this program will assure your continued satisfaction with your Ford built car.
