Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

Exhaust System R&R:

REMOVAL
1. Remove two converter inlet pipe to converter nuts and washers.
2. Remove gasket.
3. Remove two catalytic converter to converter outlet pipe nuts and washers.
4. Remove gasket.
5. Pry rubber hangers from mounting hooks.
6. Remove converter.

INSTALLATION
1. Position converter and push rubber hangers onto hooks.
2. Install new gasket between converter and outlet pipe. Tighten nuts to 31-46 Nm (23-34 ft lb).
3. Install new gasket between inlet pipe and converter. Tighten nuts to 37-52 Nm (27-38 ft lb).
4. Start engine and inspect for leaks.
