NA8 - Check For IDM Short to Ground In Harness

- Key Off.

- Disconnect ICM from CM tee. leave EI diagnostic harness connected to vehicle harness connector.

- DVOM on 20K ohm scale.

- Measure resistance between J41 (IDM I) and (-) J7 (B-) at breakout box.

- Is resistance greater than 10K ohms?

YES -- CHECK connectors, SERVICE or REPLACE harness. IDM is shorted to another wire between the ICM and PCM. REMOVE all test equipment. RECONNECT all components. Clear continuous memory. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Rerun quick test. Diagnostic Subroutines (DSR) - Extracting Codes

NO -- CHECK connectors, SERVICE or REPLACE harness. IDM is shorted low. REMOVE all test equipment. RECONNECT all components. Clear continuous memory. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
