INSTRUMENT PANEL - GLARE FROM INSTRUMENT CLUSTER - VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE 11/22/93

FORD:
1994 THUNDERBIRD

LINCOLN-MERCURY:
1994 COUGAR

ISSUE:
A glare may be reflected from the instrument cluster area because of the lens angle.

ACTION:
Replace the cluster mask, lens and the instrument panel finish panel. Refer to the following service procedure for details.

1. Remove the instrument cluster. Refer to the 1994 Thunderbird/Cougar Service Manual, Pages 13-01-25 and 01-12-15, for the removal procedure.

2. Remove the screws retaining the instrument cluster main lens and cluster mask.

3. Remove the instrument cluster main lens and instrument cluster mask.





4. Replace the mask, lens and instrument panel finish panel with improved parts. Refer to the Parts Block in the article for correct parts usage.

5. To install, reverse the removal procedures. Tighten the instrument cluster retaining screws to 2-3 N-m (18-27 lb.in.).
