With Manual Heater
REMOVAL1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
Heater Control Assembly:
2. Remove the four screws attaching the control assembly to the instrument panel.
3. Pull the control assembly from the instrument panel opening and disconnect the wire connectors from the control assembly.
4. Disconnect the vacuum harness and the wire connectors from the control assembly. Discard the pushnuts used to retain the vacuum harness.
INSTALLATION
1. Connect the wire connectors and the vacuum harness to the control assembly using new pushnuts.
CAUTION: Push on the vacuum harness retaining nut. Do not attempt to screw it onto the post.
2. Position the control assembly to the instrument panel opening and install the four retaining screws.
3. Connect the battery ground cable.
NOTE: On vehicles equipped with Electronic Engine Control (EEC), when the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the EEC processor relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the strategy.
4. Check the system for proper operation.
