ISSUE:
Effective October 31, 1994 the 1994 AX4S and AX4S-SHO (all applications) and the 1995 AX4S (one Windstar application ONLY) are available for use in transaxle repairs per the provisions of TSB 94-14-5. These Transaxles are available, as priced and part numbered assemblies, from your facing Ford Authorized Remanufacturer.

ACTION:
Dealers are required to use a Ford Remanufactured assembly in place of an overhaul for warranty repairs on covered applications when the estimated cost of repairs exceeds $1300. Ford Remanufactured AX4S Transaxles are available for use in all repairs, including Warranty, ESP, AWA, Service Part Warranty and Retail.

NOTE:
FOR 1995 WINDSTAR 3.8L, ONLY AX4S SERVICE PART # F48Z-7000-BRM IS AVAILABLE FOR EXCHANGE. SERVICE PART # F48Z-7000-BRM CAN ONLY BE USED AS A REPLACEMENT FOR ASSEMBLY PART # F48P-BA AND CANNOT BE USED AS A REPLACEMENT FOR ASSEMBLY PART # F48P-BB. ASSEMBLY PART # F48P-BA AND F48P-BB ARE NOT INTERCHANGEABLE. NO FORD REMANUFACTURED EXCHANGE IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE AS A REPLACEMENT FOR ASSEMBLY PART F48P-BB.
