ANTENNA - BOWED CONDITION ONLY - WARRANTY POLICY MANUAL REVISION

ISSUE:
A revision to the Warranty Policy Manual, Page 5.1-14, is being done. This policy states "Defective antennas only are covered under warranty - Missing, bent, or otherwise damaged antennas are not covered." Dealers have reported antenna masts bowing under normal operating conditions, resulting in poor retraction and extension of antenna.

ACTION:
The revised policy is as follows: Power antenna masts, with Base P/N 1 8A886, will be accepted as a valid warranty claim when the mast develops a "bowed" condition. This does not include antenna assemblies (Base P/N 18850) or "kinked/bent" masts caused by customer abuse (i.e., car wash or garage door).

NOTE:
FCS 700 TAG WILL BE ISSUED FOR MASTS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY.
