Vehicles - 3.8L Cylinder Head Gasket.
This communication is forwarded to all Ford and Lincoln Mercury Dealers and includes a copy of the Ford Authorized Distributor Bulletin (FADB) # 00-038, dated March 16, 2000, announcing 3.8L FOR engine availability for Owner Notification Program 00M09.
EFFECTIVE MARCH 20, 2000, ONLY 3.8L FOR ENGINES ARE AUTHORIZED FOR USE IN VEHICLES REQUIRING ENGINE REPLACEMENTS UNDER OWNER NOTIFICATION PROGRAM 00M09.
Guidelines regarding Extended Parts Delay Consumer Focus Certificates will apply in those instances when a 3.8L FQR is not available through the local FAD within 5 business days. See copy of the second Ford Authorized Distributor Bulletin (FADB) # 00-045, dated March 27, 2000 which refers to the process.
Dealers who purchased and used a 3.8L FAR engine, prior to March 20, 2000, for engine replacements in affected 00M09 vehicles, must submit claims no later than April 19, 2000, to receive payment.
Effective April 20, 2000, claims submitted for payment using a 3.8L FAR engine will be not be accepted.
