Lighting and Horns: Service Precautions
NOTE: The air bag restraint system is an optional item on this model. Not all versions are equipped with it.DISARMING
1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then the positive cable. Allow at least one minute for back-up power supply to deplete.
2. Remove four nut and washer assemblies retaining air bag module to steering wheel.
3. Disconnect air bag module connector.
4. Connect Rotunda Air Bag Simulator 105-00010, or equivalent, to vehicle air bag wiring harness at top steering column.
5. Connect battery positive cable, then the ground cable.
ARMING
1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then the positive cable. Allow one minute for back-up power supply to deplete.
2. Remove air bag simulator from harness on top of steering column.
3. Connect driver's air bag connector.
4. Install driver's air bag module. Tighten retaining screws to specifications.
5. Connect battery positive cable, then the ground cable.
6. Place ignition switch in RUN position and note air bag warning lamp operation. Indicator lamp should illuminate for approximately six seconds, then turn OFF.
