DE8 - Compare Expected FF Sensor Response to Actual Response

- Key "OFF".

- Flexible Fuel (FF) sensor connected.

- Breakout box installed, Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connected.

- Rotunda Megameter or equivalent connected to breakout box.

- Key "ON", let engine idle.

- Observe the frequency display of the meter.

Fuel Sensor Signal Frequency Output:

- Using the chart, match the percent methanol (MO (gasoline) or M85) with the expected FF sensor signal output frequency range:

- Key "OFF".

- Does the FF sensor output signal have a frequency corresponding to the refill fuel used in DE7?

Yes -- Remove the breakout box. Clear codes and test drive vehicle. Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)

No -- Remove the breakout box. Replace the FF sensor. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
