Parking Brake System: Adjustments

1. Start engine and move shift control selector lever into REVERSE position.
2. With vehicle moving in reverse, press and release brake pedal several times.
3. Stop engine.
4. Remove parking brake console as follows:
a. Position both front seats to rearmost position, then remove front console screws.
b. Recline both front seats, then remove rear console screws.
c. Unbuckle safety belts, then, with parking brake control engaged, remove console.

Parking Brake Adjustment:

5. Turn adjusting nut until control stroke is five to seven notches when pulled with 22 lb of force.
6. Install console as follows:
a. Feed safety belt ends through proper holes in console, then install console over parking brake control.
b. Install console screws, then return both seats to original positions.
