FF1 - Attempt to Eliminate DTC 519
NOTE: Some vehicles are equipped with a Power Steering Pressure (PSP) switch software strategy, but do not have hardware released for the engine/vehicle application. When Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 519 is received in Key On Engine Off (KOEO), check to see if the vehicle is equipped with PSP switch. If not, disregard servicing DTC 519. Return to Diagnostic Routines to service other DTCs. Manufacturer Code Charts
DTC 519 indicates the PSP circuit is open.
Possible causes:
- Damaged PSP switch.
- Open harness.
- Damaged Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
- Key "OFF".
- Disconnect PSP switch.
- Jumper PSP circuit to SIG RTN circuit at the PSP switch vehicle harness connector.
- Rerun KOEO Self-Test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
- Is DTC 519 still present?
Yes -- Go to FF2. FF2 - Check Continuity of PSPS Circuit
No -- Replace PSP switch. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
