Front Door: Adjustments
NOTE: Do not cover up a poor door alignment with a latch striker adjustment.Front Door Adjustment:
The door hinges provide sufficient adjustment to correct most door misalignment conditions. The holes of the hinge and/or the hinge attaching points are enlarged or elongated to provide for hinge and front door or rear door alignment.
1. Refer to illustrations to determine which hinge bolts must be loosened to move the front door or rear door in the desired direction.
2. Loosen the hinge bolts just enough to permit movement of the front door or rear door with a padded pry bar.
3. Move front door or rear door the estimated distance necessary. Tighten the hinge bolts to 25-35 Nm (19-25 lb-ft). Check front door or rear door fit to ensure there is no bind or interference with the adjacent panel.
4. Repeat the operation until the desired fit is obtained. Check the door latch striker tapping plate alignment for proper door closing.
