B1693 - Autolamp On Circuit Failure

DTC B1693: Autolamp Circuit Failure

B1693-1 - Check Lighting Control Module

- Disconnect lighting control module C2 connector.
- Turn autolamps ON.
- Using a voltmeter, measure for voltage at pin C2-6 circuit 220 (P/O).

Is B+ present?

YES REPLACE lighting control module. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
NO GO to B1693-2.

B1693-2 - Check Circuit 220 (P/O) For Short To Ground

- Turn autolamps OFF.
- Disconnect headlamp switch.
- Using an ohmmeter connected to ground, measure resistance at lighting control module pin C2-6 circuit 220 (P/O).

Is resistance less than 10K ohms?

YES SERVICE circuit 220 (P/O) for short to ground. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
NO GO to B1693-3.

B1693-3 - Check Headlamp Switch

- Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance of circuit 220 (P/O) between lighting control module connector pin C2-6 and headlamp switch connector pin C2-4.

Is resistance 5 ohms or less?

YES REPLACE headlamp switch. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
NO SERVICE circuit 220 (P/O) for open. RESTORE vehicle. RETEST system.
