Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Vehicle Damage Warnings

WARNING: The electrical power supply to the air suspension system must be shut OFF prior to hoisting, jacking or towing an air suspension vehicle. This can be accomplished by disconnecting the battery or turning OFF the air suspension switch located in the luggage compartment on the RH side. Failure to do so may result in unexpected inflation or deflation of the air springs which may result in shifting of the vehicle during these operations.

HOISTING AND BODY SUPPORT PROCEDURES

CAUTION: The following hoist restrictions must be observed:

1. Position vehicle over hoist. Turn ignition to 0FF position and turn OFF air suspension switch located in luggage compartment on RH side.
2. A body hoist is the recommended method for vehicle hoisting. When this hoist is used, raise vehicle using standard support procedures. Suspension will be supported in rebound by front and rear shock absorbers after vehicle is lifted. Also support vehicle at four corners with jackstands as a safety precaution. Do not use suspension hoists.
3. If a body hoist is not available, an alternate method approved for vehicle hoisting is to use a standard hydraulic floor jack. Raise front of vehicle at No. 2 crossmember until tires are above floor. Support vehicle body with jackstands at each front corner and then lower floor jack so that front suspension is in full rebound. Repeat this procedure for rear air suspension, except raise body at rear jacking location.
