Road Test - Performance Evaluation
SHIFT POINT ROAD TEST1. Bring engine and transaxle to normal operating temperature, then operate vehicle with transaxle in Drive range.
Shift Speed Chart:
2. Apply minimal throttle and observe speeds at which upshifts occur and torque converter engages. Refer to the Shift Speed Chart for specifications.
3. With vehicle operating in 4th gear, depress Transmission Control Switch. Transaxle should downshift to 3rd gear.
4. Release accelerator pedal. Engine braking should occur, and torque converter clutch should disengage and then reapply.
5. Press accelerator pedal to floor. Transaxle should shift from 3rd to 2nd gear, or 3rd to 1st at lower speeds.
6. With vehicle operating above 50 mph, below half throttle and in Drive range, move selector lever to Manual 2 position and release accelerator pedal. Transaxle should downshift immediately to 2nd gear.
7. Move selector lever from Manual 2 to Manual 1 position. Transaxle should downshift to 1st gear at speeds below 28-32 mph.
