Seal Replacement
Note: Connector assemblies are used at the location indicated. If a leak occurs, follow the procedure outlined:
1. Tighten fitting to the specification for the location as shown.
2. If leak continues, replace Teflon seal on the connector assembly. Use Teflon Seal Replacer D90P-3517-A or equivalent.
CAUTION: IF LEAK CONTINUES, DO NOT APPLY ADDITIONAL TORQUE OR DAMAGE TO THE PUMP HOUSING OR STEERING GEAR HOUSING MAY RESULT.
3. Reinstall the connector assembly into its port and tighten to specification for its location as shown.
4. If leak continues, the source is either the rubber O-ring inside the connector assembly or a damaged/improperly formed power steering tube (part of hose connector).
The O-ring is not serviceable and the connector assembly is not removeable from the hose assembly.
Remove the power steering line with the connector assembly or assemblies attached.
5. Install a new service hose assembly.
Service hose assemblies come with connector assembly or assemblies (including Teflon O-rings, rubber O-rings and the snap rings) preassembled.
6. Fill power steering system.
With engine running and tires on the ground and fully loaded, turn the steering wheel from lock-to-lock.
Raise vehicle and check for leaks.
