REMOVAL and INSTALLATION

1. Remove two screws retaining accelerator control splash shield to accelerator cable bracket. Remove accelerator control splash shield.

2. Working under dash and using a suitable tool, remove accelerator cable snap-in nylon bushing from accelerator pedal arm.

3. Remove screw retaining accelerator cable housing to accelerator cable bracket.

4. Remove accelerator cable housing from dash panel by removing two screws retaining accelerator cable retainer and accelerator cable to dash panel and pushing outward from inside passenger compartment.

5. Unwind cable core wire from pulley in throttle body control lever and slide cable end fitting out of slot in pulley.

6. Remove screw retaining accelerator cable to accelerator cable bracket. Remove accelerator cable from slot in accelerator cable bracket.

7. To install, reverse Removal procedure. Align locator pin in accelerator cable to hole in accelerator cable bracket.
- Tighten cable-to-bracket screw to 5-7 Nm (44-62 lb in).

- Tighten screws retaining accelerator cable bracket to throttle body to 8-10 Nm (71-89 lb in).

- Tighten screws retaining accelerator cable to dash panel to 1.6-2.2 Nm (14-19 lb in).
