Wagon
REMOVAL1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assembly.
NOTE: If vehicle is raised on frame contact hoist, position suitable jack under lower control arm to raise arm to normal curb height.
2. On models with rear disc brakes, proceed as follows:
a. Remove brake caliper and adapter, then hang out of the way.
b. Remove brake rotor and wheel hub.
c. Remove brake shield and anti-lock sensor.
3. On models with rear drum brakes, remove brake drum and wheel bearings, then the brake backing plate.
4. Remove upper control arms to crossmember attaching nuts and bolts.
5. Remove bolt, one washer, adjusting cam and nut attaching spindle to lower control arm.
6. Remove spindle and upper control arm as an assembly, then remove upper control arm to spindle attaching nut and the spindle.
INSTALLATION
1. Install upper control arms to spindle using a new nut. Do not tighten at this time.
2. Position spindle and upper control arm assembly on lower control arm. Install new nut and washer, existing adjusting cam and new nut. Do not tighten at this time.
3. Position front and rear upper control arms to body bracket, then install new nuts and bolts. Do not tighten at this time.
4. Ensure lower control arm is at normal curb height.
5. Tighten upper control arms to body bracket attaching bolts, upper control arms to spindle attaching nut and spindle to lower control arm attaching nut to specifications.
