LEAKS WATER - ONTO THE PASSENGER
COMPARTMENT FLOOR

FORD:

LINCOLN-MERCURY:

ISSUE:
Water may leak onto the passenger compartment floor during humid conditions. This may be caused by insufficient sealing of the cabin air filter to the cowl inlet.

ACTION:
Check for a loose cabin air filter housing cowl inlet, then reseal the cabin air filter housing cowl inlet. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Remove the cabin air filter and housing as outlined in the appropriate Taurus/Sable Service Manual, Section 12.

2. Remove the old sealer.

3. Apply a minimum 12 mm bead of rope sealer (obtain locally) to the cabin air filter housing sealing surface.

4. Reinstall the housing.

5. Verify the concern.
