Front Wiper Motor
NOTE: On these models, the wiper mounting arm and pivot shafts are connected together with non-removable plastic ball joints. Except for the wiper motor, the entire wiper transmission assembly is non-serviceable.1. Disconnect and isolate battery ground cable.
2. Remove wiper arm retaining nuts from pivot shafts. Note normal park positions of wiper arms and blades.
3. Turn ignition ON and wiper switch to LO. When arms and blades to move to a straight up-and-down position, turn ignition OFF.
4. Remove wiper arms from pivot shafts.
5. Turn eight plastic cowl vent screen nuts 1/4 turn counterclockwise.
6. Remove six clips retaining vent screen to inner panels.
7. Remove four screws retaining wiper assembly to cowl, then remove assembly from vehicle.
8. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Before installation begins, turn ignition switch to ON position and wiper control switch to LOW or HIGH, then to OFF position after the wipers have cycled once or twice. This will allow them to park properly and will prevent damage.
b. Torque wiper assembly screws to 7-10 ft lb.
c. Install wiper arms and blades in their previously noted park positions.
d. Torque pivot arm nuts to 22-29 ft lb.
