Intake Manifold: Testing and Inspection
CAUTION:^ Remove all filings and foreign matter that may have entered the intake manifold as a result of service or damage to engine may occur.
^ Check and make sure that all pressed-in core plugs and tubes are fully seated and tight or damage to engine may occur.
1. Inspect the intake manifolds for cracks, damaged gasket surfaces or other damage that would make them unfit for further service.
2. Replace all studs that are stripped or otherwise damaged.
3. Clean the EGR exhaust passages.
4. Check the baffle plates on the underside of the lower intake manifold (if equipped). The baffles should be securely fastened.
