Backup Lamp: Description and Operation

The backup lamp system consists of:
- The backup lamp in the rear panel reflector.
- Circuit wiring and circuit protection.
- Transmission Range (TR) sensor.
- Power is supplied to the TR sensor through Fuse 5 (15 A) in the fuse junction panel. This fuse is hot in RUN. With the transmission in REVERSE, the switch closes and power is provided to the backup lamp bulbs on Circuit 140 (BK/PK). Ground is provided to the backup lamp bulbs through Circuit 57 (BK).
