Solenoid Isolation Valve

WARNING: The fuel system is always pressurized to 830 kPa (120 psi). use care when servicing the fuel system or personal injury may occur.


REMOVAL
1. Perform fuel pressure release procedures.
2. Remove air cleaner outlet tube.
3. Disconnect solenoid valve wire connector from fuel charging wiring and alternator bracket.
4. Remove nut retaining solenoid isolation valve coil to valve core. Remove solenoid isolation valve coil from brass core.
5. Remove brass core from base. Inspect O-ring and discard if damaged.
6. Remove plunger and spring from within the brass core and wash with water.
7. Inspect plunger seals and discard plunger if damaged.






INSTALLATION
1. Replace O-ring as specified on brass core if previously discarded. Use tape to cover the threads and prevent damaging the O-ring. Remove tape after O-ring is installed.
2. Place spring into hole in plunger and place plunger and spring into the brass core.
3. Install brass core into base. Tighten to 25-29 Nm (19-21 lb ft).
4. Install solenoid isolation valve coil into brass core. Tighten nut to 12-15 Nm (9-11 lb ft).
5. Connect solenoid valve wire connector to generator bracket and fuel charging wiring.
6. Perform Fuel Charging System Post Service procedures. Service and Repair
7. Install air cleaner outlet tube.
