Parts Replacement Procedures

The various major assemblies in the driver side air bag module and passenger side air bag module have been designed to be tamper-resistant and are not to be disassembled for service.

NOTE: When replacing a driver side air bag module or passenger side air bag module, a prepaid return postcard is provided with the replacement driver side air bag module or passenger side air bag module. The serial number for the new part and Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) must be recorded and sent to Ford Motor Company.

CAUTION: Component assemblies may be removed and replaced when directed by the Testing and Inspection procedures to avoid unnecessary servicing. Information on proper handling and storage of air bag assemblies is provided. Refer to Service Precautions.
