The manual seat back recliner system operates as follows:
- The reclining seat back is adjusted by a front seat back adjusting handle on the outboard side of the seat cushion.
- The front seat back adjusting handle releases the front seat back latch located on the outboard rear corner of the seat assembly.
- The front seat back latch provides the seat back pivot.
- To recline the seat back, rotate the front seat back adjusting handle upward and push the seat back to the desired position and release the front seat back adjusting handle.
- Spring action will return the seat back to its full-up position when the front seat back adjusting handle is rotated upward and occupant back pressure is removed.
- The front seat back latch is a modular design and components cannot be serviced or replace individually.
- The entire front seat back latch assembly must be replaced if any component is non-functional or damaged.
