Headlamp: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Turn headlamp switch to the off position.
WARNING: THE HALOGEN HEADLAMP BULB CONTAINS GAS UNDER PRESSURE. THE HEADLAMP BULB MAY SHATTER IF THE GLASS ENVELOPE IS SCRATCHED OR THE HEADLAMP BULB AND RETAINER ARE DROPPED. HANDLE BULB CAREFULLY. GRASP HEADLAMP BULB AND RETAINER ONLY BY ITS PLASTIC BASE. AVOID TOUCHING GLASS ENVELOPE. KEEP HEADLAMP BULB AND RETAINER OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
NOTE: The headlamp on this vehicle does not need replacement when the headlamp bulb and retainer burns out. Refer to Headlamp Bulb for removal and installation of headlamp bulb and retainer.
NOTE: Make sure that the headlamp switch and the ignition switch are in the OFF position.
1. Disconnect headlamp dash panel junction wire from headlamp bulb and retainer by grasping wires firmly and snapping connector downward.
2. Remove three headlamp mounting clips retaining headlamp to radiator grille opening panel reinforcement.
NOTE: Use snap-ring pliers to spread headlamp mounting clips, then pull straight upward to disengage.
3. Remove headlamp from vehicle.
INSTALLATION
1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
^If necessary, adjust the headlamps.
2. Aim headlamp as described under Adjustments.
