Component Tests and General Diagnostics

APPEARANCE CHECK
1. Remove pressure relief cap following described precautions.
2. Check coolant for dirty or rusty appearance.
3. If coolant appears dirty or rusty, drain the coolant, recycle coolant using Rotunda Coolant Recycler 181-00003, flush and refill.
4. If coolant does not appear dirty or rusty, check engine coolant level and concentration in the following steps.

CONCENTRATION
1. Check coolant concentration for recommended protection level using Rotunda Battery and Antifreeze Tester 014-R1060 or equivalent.
2. If concentration is low, partially drain the coolant and add 100 percent antifreeze solution such as Premium Cooling System Fluid E2FZ-19549-AA and B, in Oregon F5FZ-19549-CC, in Canada, Motorcraft CXC-8-B, recycled coolant or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESE-M97B44-A to obtain the recommended protection level.
