Upper

REMOVAL
1. Remove steering column.
2. Remove wiring shield from between steering actuator housing and steering column lock cylinder housing.
3. Remove three screws from air bag sliding contact and remove air bag sliding contact from column.
4. Remove tilt position lever pivot pin using a drift. Remove right steering column locking lever, steering column lock left hand lever and steering column locking lever springs.
5. Remove two pivot bolts retaining steering column lock cylinder housing to the steering actuator housing and remove steering column lock cylinder housing.
6. Suitably support steering column lock cylinder housing and tap out small steering column bearing with an appropriate drift and a plastic hammer.









INSTALLATION

1. Suitably support lock housing. Position small steering column bearing so that the opening between races is up. Tap into place with a plastic hammer and a bushing driver installer or socket the same size as outer race of bearing.
2. Install steering column lock cylinder housing on steering column.
