Park Brake Components (Part 2 Of 2):

The parking brake system consists of the following features:
^ An independent foot-operated parking brake control actuates the rear caliper lever through a cable system.
^ A self-adjusting parking brake mechanism in the rear disc brake caliper.
^ A parking brake release handle extends from the lower portion of the instrument panel left of the steering column. Pulling this handle releases the parking brake.
^ Parking brake warning indicator.

BRAKE WARNING SYSTEM

^ The parking brake warning indicator is actuated by the parking brake control.
^ The indicator warns the driver to release the parking brake control before driving the vehicle.
^ If the indicator remains "ON" with the parking brake control released, a brake or warning indicator malfunction has occurred.
^ Is located in the lower RH side of the instrument panel.
