C - Vibration When Brakes Are Applied

C1 ROAD TEST
Road test vehicle without applying brakes 25-50 mph (40-80 km/h). Is a vibration present?
YES - Test for tires/wheels out of balance. Bent or damaged wheels, or driveline vibration.
NO - GO to C2

C2 CHECK FOR REAR BRAKE VIBRATION

NOTE: With manual release parking brake control, hold the parking brake control in release position during parking brake control application.

Road test vehicle with medium pressure on the parking brake control only. Is a vibration present?
YES - Check Brake Drum for excessive wear or out-of-round. Refinish rear disc brake rotor or drum.
NO - Go to C3

C3 CHECK FOR FRONT BRAKE VIBRATION
Road test vehicle with light and medium pressure on the brake pedal. Is a vibration present?
YES - Refinish Brake Rotor with on-the-car brake lathe.
NO - Vehicle OK.
