Flow of Diagnosis
1. Verify the customer's concern by operating speed control system to duplicate the condition.2. Inspect to determine if one of the mechanical or electrical concerns apply:
VISUAL INSPECTION CHART
Mechanical
Inspect and verify that:
^ Actuator cable is adjusted properly without holding the throttle open or increasing idle speed.
^ Throttle linkage operates freely and smoothly when connected to the actuator cable and speed control servo.
Electrical
^ verify proper horn operation
^ Verity stoplamp operation
^ Check circuit fuses:
Power Distribution Box
- Fuse 2 (40A)
- Fuse 22 (15A)
Fuse Junction Panel
- Fuse 28 (15A)
- Fuse 6 (15A)
- Fuse 12 (5A)
^ Inspect and verity that:
- Connections are complete with no loose wires or terminals.
- wiring is not broken, shorted or corroded.
- Wiring is not misrouted.
3. If inspection reveals obvious concern(s) that can be readily identified, service as required.
4. If the concern(s) remain after inspection, determine the symptom(s) and go to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
