Backup Lamp: Description and Operation

The backup lamp system consists of:
- Backup lamp bulb in the rear panel reflector.
- Transmission range sensor.
- Circuit wiring and circuit protection.
- Power is supplied to the transmission range sensor through instrument panel Fuse 6 (15 A) and Circuit 1087 (O). This fuse is hot in RUN.
- With transaxle in REVERSE, the switch closes and power is provided to backup lamp bulbs through Circuit 140 (BK/PK).
- Ground is provided to the backup lamp bulbs through Circuit 57 (BK).
