Brake Light Switch: Description and Operation

The stoplight switch:
- Provides power to the rear stoplamps and rear hi-mount lamp.
- Provides a signal to various other systems including:
- Anti-lock brake control module.
- Powertrain control module.
- Shift lock actuator.
- Speed control amplifier.
- Lamp out module (if equipped).
- Remote anti-theft personality module (if equipped with keyless entry).

Power is provided to the stoplight switch:
- Through fuse junction panel Fuse 28 (15 A), which is HOT AT ALL TIMES.
- On Circuit 10 (LG/R).

Ground to stoplamps is provided by Circuit 57 (BK).
