Flow of Diagnosis

1. Verify the customer's concern by these steps:
a. Turn ignition switch OFF.
b. Turn headlamp switch to HEAD.
C. Check low beam headlamp operation.
d. Turn high beam headlamp ON with dimmer switch.
e. Check high beam operation.
f. Check high beam indicator located in instrument cluster for proper operation.
g. Turn high beam headlamps OFF.
h Turn low beam headlamps OFF.
i. Service headlamp concerns before checking daytime running lamps control.
j. Check daytime running lamps system operation:
- Turn ignition switch to RUN.
- Check for high beam headlamps ON at reduced intensity.
2. Inspect to determine if one of the electrical concerns apply:

VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

Electrical
- Open power distribution box fuse:
+ Fuse 15 (15 A)
+ Fuse 22 (30 A)
- Fuse junction panel fuse:
+ Fuse 12 (5 A)
+ Fuse 6 (15 A)
- circuitry open/shorted.
- Damaged ignition switch.
- Damaged daytime running lamp control module.

3. If the inspection reveals obvious concern(s) that can be readily identified, service as required.
4. If the concern(s) remains after the inspection, determine the symptom(s) and go to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
