Flow of Diagnosis

INSPECTION AND VERIFICATION
1. Verify the customer's original concern by operating the horn system to duplicate the condition.
2. Inspect to determine if one of the following mechanical or electrical concerns apply:

VISUAL INSPECTION CHART

Mechanical
^ Loose horn retaining screw.
^ Horns touching surrounding sheet metal or other components.
^ Blocked horn openings.
^ Horn pad/air bag assembly not positioned in steering wheel properly.

Electrical
^ Power distribution box Fuse 19 (15 A).
^ Corroded horn ground connection.
^ Horn relay.
^ Obvious short or opens in wiring.
^ Damaged connectors.

3. If inspection reveals obvious concern(s), service as required.
4. If the concerns remain after the inspection, determine the symptoms and go to the Symptom Chart. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
