Wheel Bearing: Service Precautions

CAUTION:
^ Do not use impact wrench to tighten the hub or bearing damage will result.
^ Do not re-use an axle wheel hub retainer once it has been removed from vehicle.

NOTE:
1. Since the wheel bearing cannot be adjusted, the front axle wheel hub retainer must not be backed off after reaching required torque during installation.
2. Hub and CV joint splines have an interference fit requiring special tools for disassembly. The front axle wheel hub retainer must not be used to accomplish assembly.
3. To remove axle wheel hub retainer, apply sufficient torque (counterclockwise) to overcome the prevailing torque of the nut.
