Steering Gear: Testing and Inspection

The power rack and pinion steering gear is installed onto the front cross member with steering gear insulator. The steering gear housing may move slightly when the steering wheel is turned. Inspect power rack and pinion steering gear for:
^ worn steering gear insulator.
^ cracks.
^ torn bellows.
^ worn or damaged front wheel spindle tie rods.
