Shift Linkage: Description and Operation

The transaxle shift control linkage consists of the following components:

Shift Control Linkage - Column Shift:

Shift Control Linkage - Floor Shift (Part 1 Of 2):

Shift Control Linkage - Floor Shift (Part 2 Of 2):

1. A column or floor mounted transaxle range selector lever.
2. A cable connecting the column or floor shifter to the transaxle manual control lever.
3. Brake shifter interlock system.
4. An ignition/shifter interlock cable on floor-shift vehicles.
