Front Door Window Glass: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Remove front door trim panel and front door trim shield. Doors
2. Remove window garnish moulding.
3. Remove front door belt line inside weatherstrip.
4. Lower front door window glass to access holes in front door inner panel. Remove two rivets retaining front door window glass to front door window channel bracket.
5. Loosen nut and washer retaining door window glass inner stabilizer.
6. Remove the rear mounting bolt of the front door glass run.
7. Remove front door window glass by tipping it forward and then removing it from between door belt opening to outboard side of front door.
INSTALLATION
1. Install front door window glass into door. Make sure that front door window glass is set within front door glass top run.
2. Position front door window glass to front door window channel bracket. Install two rivets, door window glass bracket spacers and door window glass channel bracket retainers to secure front door window glass to front door window channel bracket using Heavy Duty Riveter 501-D011 (D80L-23200-A) or equivalent to install two rivets.
NOTE: Two 1/4-20 x 1 inch bolts and two 1/4-20 nut and washer assemblies may be used as alternates for glass retention. However, torque must not exceed 4-7 N.m (36-61 Lb-In). Equivalent metric retainers may be used.
3. Install front door belt line inside weatherstrip.
4. Raise front door window glass to within 75 mm (3 inches) of full-up position and adjust front door window glass. Adjust and tighten door window glass inner stabilizer.
5. Install window garnish moulding.
6. Lower window to full-down position and install the rear mounting bolt of the front door glass run. Tighten bolt to 7-10 N.m (62-88 Lb-In).
7. Install front door trim shield and front door trim panel.
