Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Electrical System

The electrical system consists of:
1. A/C blower motor.
a. The A/C blower motor is installed in the A/C evaporator housing.
2. Heater blower motor switch.
a. Is mounted in the Integrated Control Panel (ICP).
b. With the A/C blower motor resistor, allows the selection of four A/C blower motor speeds.
3. Function selector switch.
4. A/C blower motor resistor with a thermal limiter.
a. Is installed in the A/C evaporator housing.
b. Contains a thermal limiter which is used as a temperature protecting fuse.
5. A/C pressure transducer.
6. A/C cycling switch.

Constant Control Relay Module:

7. Constant Control Relay Module (CCRM).
a. The CCRM controls the A/C clutch and engine cooling fan motor operation based on signals received from the A/C cycling switch, the A/C pressure transducer, and the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
b. The CCRM deactivates the A/C clutch when signaled by the PCM. The A/C clutch is deactivated in this manner under the following conditions:
1. Engine start-up.
2. Wide Open Throttle (WOT).
3. During engine low idle conditions.
4. Excessively high engine temperature.
8. Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
9. Fuses and wiring to complete the circuit.
