Special Service Equipment

CAUTION: Do not use R-12 special tools and equipment when servicing an R-134a system. Doing so may cause damage to the R-134a A/C system.

The refrigerant system has a high-pressure (discharge) and a low-pressure (suction) gauge port valve. These are quick connect type valves. They provide access to both sides (high- and low-pressure) of the system for service hoses and a manifold gauge set so system pressures can be read.

R-134a systems require the use of special servicing equipment designed specifically for R-134a systems. R-12 equipment cannot be used when working on R-134a A/C systems. R-134a special equipment includes:
R-134a A/C Service Center 176-00001 or equivalent.
R-134a Mobile Recycling Center 023-00150 or equivalent.
R-134a Automatic Calibration Halogen Leak Detector 023-R1003 or equivalent.
120 Watt UV Spot Lamp 164-R0721 or equivalent.
R-134a Manifold Gauge Set 176-R032A or equivalent.
R-134a Vacuum Pump 1.5 CFM 176-R0126 or equivalent.
R-134a Low Side Quick Disconnect 176-R0036 or equivalent.
R-134aHigh Side Quick Disconnect 176-R0037 or equivalent.
A/C Flusher 014-00991 or equivalent.
