Headlamp: Service and Repair
REMOVALNOTE: Correctly aimed headlamps do not require re-aiming after replacement of the headlamp bulb. Do not remove the bulb from the combination lamp until just before a replacement bulb is to be installed. Removing the bulb for an extended period of time can affect headlamp performance. Contaminants (dust, moisture, smoke) can enter the combination lamp where they can settle on the lens and reflector. Never turn on the headlamps with the bulb removed from the combination lamp.
1. Disconnect the turn signal lamp socket.
2. Remove the turn signal bulb.
3. Disconnect the cornering lamp socket.
4. Remove the cornering lamp bulb.
5. Detach the headlamp electrical connector from the headlamp bulb access cover.
6. Disconnect the headlamp electrical connector.
7. Remove the headlamp bulb access cover.
8. Rotate the headlamp bulb retainer one-quarter turn counterclockwise and remove the headlamp bulb from the combination lamp.
9. Remove the headlamp bulb.
WARNING: THE HALOGEN HEADLAMP BULB CONTAINS GAS UNDER PRESSURE. THE BULB MAY SHATTER IF THE GLASS ENVELOPE IS SCRATCHED OR IF THE BULB IS DROPPED. HANDLE THE BULB CAREFULLY. GRASP THE BULB ONLY BY ITS BASE. AVOID TOUCHING THE GLASS ENVELOPE.
10. Remove the (A) two screws and the (B) plastic fastener from the top of the front bumper.
11. Remove the screw from the bottom of each side of the front bumper.
12. From inside each wheel opening, remove the three bolts and the front bumper cover.
13. Remove the two lower combination lamp nuts.
14. Remove the two upper combination lamp screws and the combination lamp.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
