Fuel Pressure: Testing and Inspection
WARNING: Before servicing or replacing any components in the fuel system, reduce the possibility of injury or fire by following direction in Service Precautions/Fuel System Caution, Handling and Warnings.1. Key off.
2. Release fuel pressure.
3. Install fuel pressure tester.
4. Scan tool connected.
5. Key on, engine off.
6. Access Output Test Mode "on scan tool" and run the fuel pump to obtain maximum fuel pressure.
NOTE: The fuel pump will only operate for 8-seconds when Output Test Mode is selected and activated.
7. Fuel pressure should be between 207-310 kPa (30-45 psi).
