Balancing
CAUTION:^ Using an on-vehicle wheel balancer may cause damage to the transaxle. Always use an off-vehicle wheel balancer whenever balancing a front wheel.
^ Remove tire labels, stones, dirt, and any other material that could become dislodged during balancing.
NOTE: Aluminum wheels require specially designed balance weights that are coated to prevent corrosion.
^ Operate the balancer in the dynamic mode only. Do not remove the factory balance weights from the wheel before checking the wheel balance status.
^ Refer to manufacturer's instructions for the operation of Deluxe Wheel Balancer 010-00885. Make sure it is calibrated properly.
1. Remove the wheel and tire from the vehicle.
2. Mount the wheel and tire on Deluxe Wheel Balancer 010-00885 or equivalent. Refer to manufacturer's instructions for equipment operation.
3. Do not use more than two balance weights on the inner or outer side of the wheel. One balance weight should weigh no more than 60 g (2.1 oz.). If the total weight of the balance weights on one side of the wheel exceeds 100 g (3.53 oz.), then rebalance after repositioning the tire on the wheel.
4. Install the wheel and tire onto the vehicle.
